History of the place

The first ball was hit on the golf course on 21 August 2004

The charming landscape around the Klabava River enchanted passionate golfers to decide to build their own course here in 2003. However, there were significant traces of iron ore mining in the area, so it was obvious that without major reclamation, a golf course would never be built here. The course is bordered by the Klabava River and Lake Ejpovice. The 18-hole championship course was designed by the leading German architect Christoph Städler.

Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort - History of the place

Beautiful scenery around the Klabava River has charmed passionate golfers into making a decision. The location near Dýšina was not only a good choice because of its large space (130 hectares of land), greenery and proximity to water, but also the D5 motorway, which provides accessibility from Prague, Pilsen and Germany. The Dýšina golf course was not built on a green meadow, as one might expect, but was carefully set into the landscape. For this reason, there are mature trees all around the course. The buildings of the former farmstead have also undergone a difficult and sensitive renovation. Today, the granary from the second half of the 18th century is the dominant feature of the site, with historic tower apartments available to guests. The granary is connected to the restaurant building.

Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort - History of the place

In 2017, the Golf Park Plzeň - Dýšina changed to Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort, which was preceded by major renovations on the course. The par increased to 72, new greens, tees and bunkers were built on selected holes. As well, new practice areas for the academy were expanded and new facilities were built, including a top-class gastronomy facility. All the transformations that have taken place on the course have underlined the attractiveness of the entire golf resort. Greensgate represents openness. Golf is not just for a closed group of enthusiasts, but is becoming a modern sport for all who want to spend time actively, together and in nature. The golf resort honours values such as optimism, enthusiasm, freshness as well as tradition, stability and respect. It was a significant step in making Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort one of the world's top and world-renowned golf courses.
