Golf Park Plzeň - Dýšina transformed to Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort, a golf course with dynamic development of its facilities, services and sport experiences, at the end of May 2017. Dýšina, which has been among the best courses with international reputation since 2004, starts a new era after 12 successful years.
The change of name goes hand in hand with significant rebuilding of the golf course. Course PAR changed to 72 thanks to lengthening of the holes, new greens, tees and bunkers were built. Training zones for Academy were extended and new facilities including wider accommodation were made.
“We are changing the golf course as well as the services to make the golf experience for our guests even better. The new name Greensgate refers to a gate to the nature, to greenery but also to our greens which are among the top in the Czech Republic. New brand is aiming to support our growth and build recognition at the international golf scene,” explains the general manager Martina Tvarůžková and adds: “We are planning more investment to service development of the leisure resort which is intended to serve not only golfers but a much wider group of people who will be able to spend more active time in the nature.”
The golf course is widely respected for organising international tournaments and also for a quality of service provided. It has been awarded several times for The Hole of the Year, its famous “island” hole no. 11. Local Golf Academy has also received great recognition as Czech Golf Federation awarded youngsters playing in our Academy as the most successful ones in 2016.
The Leisure Resort functions as an important catalyst for tourism in the region because golf players visiting the course use also gastronomy and accommodation facilities in the local area. There is a wide range of visitors, 80% are Czechs and the rest are players from Germany, Scandinavia, Great Britain and the USA. They appreciate especially the fact that the course demands more technical skills and also the experience from the game in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The golf course is popular with corporate clientele as well. ”Facilities in Dýšina is the perfect place for golf players and also amateur sportspeople and families which enjoy active relaxation,” adds the general manager Martina Tvarůžková.
About Golf & Leisure Resort
The resort held its original name Golf Park Plzeň and was built between 2003 and 2004 near Dýšina to the north-east of Pilsen. Its source of pride is a demanding 18-hole master course situated to the local countryside and lined by the river Klabava and Ejpovice lake. This course was laid out by a renowned German architect Christoph Städler.
Unconventional arrangement is a true special feature of Greensgate golf course. All 18 holes lie one by one in a line. Island hole no. 11 is a unique jewel of Czech courses and has been awarded as “The Hole of the Year” by readers of Golf Digest C&S many times. New arrangements of the hole no. 15 means a change from PAR 3 to PAR 4.
The golf course has received many awards already: Best Hole in the Czech Republic: 2013, 2008, 2007, 2006; Best Service in the Czech Republic: 2009 and Best Golf Course in the Czech Republic: 2008.
Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort is a member of the Czech Golf Course Association which connects 13 resorts. It is also a home course of Greensgate Golf Club, a member of Czech Golf Federation. Series of prestigious international tournament Ladies European Tour were hosted in Dýšina between 2013 and 2016. The Greensgate course will hold national qualification tournament of FALDO SERIES for juniors for the second time in July 2017.
